The number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine exceeds 1.7 million persons
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, as of February 4, 2016, the number of IDPs from the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas amounts to 1 714 719 persons.
Therefore, the number of people who were forced to leave their homes, relocate to other cities and regions, and be back at square one because of the occupation of the Crimea and military activities in Donbass, grows steadily.
Compared to September 2015, the number of IDPs increased by over 200 thousand persons.
