A Large-scale offensive on the legal front
After three years of daily battle, over a thousand court hearings that were held throughout the country, after hundreds of positive court decisions by Ukrainian courts that came into force, a historic event took place – on 14 of March, 2018, the Supreme Court of Ukraine has upheld the claim of Ukrainian family, filed by the Sila Prava lawyers and has established the fact that an internal displacement of applicants was a result of military aggression and occupation of the territory of Lugansk region.
This and upcoming decisions of the Supreme Court of Ukraine made our team equipped with a lethal juridical weapon against the aggressor state. In a short time, considering the major conclusions set forth in the Supreme Court’s decision, a few thousand claims by the victims of the Russian aggression – the families of the deceased, soldiers and civilians, injured and damaged, internally displaced persons – were finalized by our lawyers.
All this enabled us to proceed to a large-scale offensive throughout the legal front and significantly reduce the time, necessary to achieve a positive result.
First decisions based on the Supreme Court’s position were ruled by the courts in Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankovsk, Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Lviv, Odessa, Sumy, Kherson, and Khmelnitsky regions.
By the court decisions were established the facts, confirming the guilt of the Russian Federation in deaths of a border guard sergeant Sergey Gulyuk and Alexander Kirilyuk, who was severely injured and died in captivity. By the same decisions were established the facts, confirming the guilt of the aggressor state in injuring Andrey Zan, a soldier of mechanized brigade #51, in internal displacement of Vishnevsky multi-child family from the occupied territory of Donetsk region, and in other damages, brought by the occupants.
Currently, Sila Prava is finalizing the preparation of claims for the families of IL-76 crew, and paratroopers, who were killed on June 14, 2014, in the sky over Lugansk.
A separate direction – is the Ilovaysk tragedy. Our aim is to help each family of the deceased, each family of killed soldiers, and each injured soldier of Ukraine fix the evidence of guilt of the Russian Federation in this crime and punish the aggressor.
Such work is going on all over the country regarding each episode of this undeclared war.
